Its time to begin again.
Its been too long since I blogged, and while I am probably rusty at it, I am thinking its like riding a bicycle…it will all come back to me.
This is the year. I am going to finally kick clutter’s butt. I am going to get us out of debt. I am going to get in shape. And I am going to take time for me.
These are not New Year’s resolutions. I know better than to make New Year’s resolutions. They are a study in failure. These are more like goals. And I am going to break them down into smaller, more manageable bites so that I don’t get discouraged.
I have a Facebook group dedicated to clutter control and frugal living. And within that group, I set up weekly challenges to conquer and tame clutter. So one thing I am going to do here is to track my clutter challenges. I am also going to keep track of my finacial goals and try to celebrate the victories. I am going to track my me time, and I am going to PLAN my me time if I need to. And as far as the healthy stuff goes? I am ready to make the changes.
So this week’s challenge was to clean the surfaces in my bedroom. Sounded like a good way to begin. Make the bedroom a sanctuary, clean and clutter free, restful. I was off Tuesday, so I tackled this challenge. My surfaces were not super cluttered, but I tossed some magazines, some old perfume bottles and a few knick-knacks. I cleaned and dusted, washed all the bedding and put away all the things laying around. And it was good.
Financially, I am trying to get organized and planned post-Christmas. I rolled alot of change which will make a great deposit to our savings account. And I have been trying hard to not eat out, and eat from the pantry. No trips to the grocery store save alot of money.
In the healthy living arena, I also used the day off to go through the kitchen. I took all the Christmas stuff down, and gathered up all the unhealthy foods. The baked goods were brought to work. A banana bread went to my nail technician. I brought the candy to my hairdresser to put in the little candy jar she keeps on her counter. And some of the junk went…well…right to the trash. Its a start!
And I got my craft room back! All the Christmas bins are out of it, and I am ready to work on some of the multitude of projects. Me time!
And…I will be here more often. Blogging keeps me accountable, and I find I need that accountability. So lets go, 2012…we can do this!!!
